Description
Hercules Baby Hercules Presentation Cel with Key Master Background (Walt Disney, 1997). "Look at this! Look how cute he is." Zeus playfully coos at his newborn son Hercules in this remarkably rare hand-inked and hand-painted original presentation cel, displayed on its original Key Master production background. No cels were used to make Hercules, so presentation cels, made from production drawings, were hand-painted at Disney's Ink and Paint Department and paired with original hand-painted production backgrounds. These rare, one-of-a-kind setups were sold at The Art of Hercules auction in New York on June 20th 1998. This is lot #3 from that sale, and the image can be seen at the 3:34 mark of the film. The piece bears an official Walt Disney seal, and it is joined by a Certificate of Authenticity. The background is rendered masterfully in gouache, and the setup is framed under Plexiglas with a mat window size of 14.25" x 10.25" and an overall frame size of 24" x 20". All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Well preserved in the frame, the setup shows little handling, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
