Fantasia "Making Magic" Mickey Mouse Limited Edition Cel #10/295 (Walt Disney, 2009). Most Mickey Mouse fans agree his greatest role was as the Sorcerer's Apprentice in Fantasia. The Disney Art Program introduced this adorable limited edition of Mickey entitled "Making Magic." When Mickey falls asleep in the Sorcerer's chair, he dreams of floating to the top of the mountain to direct the stars, planets, and comets. This is a hand-painted limited edition cel based on original drawings housed at the Disney Animation Research Library. You can see this image of Mickey as he wiggles his fingers at about the 4:40 mark into this segment. This outstanding cel features ten ink lines and twenty-two paint colors, with a large 7" image of our hero. The cel is on a print background for presentation purposes; a Disney seal is on the cel and Disney COA is on the back of the frame. The edition was only 295 and this is #10. Matted with an opening size of 12" x 10", and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 23" x 21". Frame is sold as-is; cel condition is Fine.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
