Elmer Elephant Tillie Tiger and Elmer Elephant Animation Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1936). Elmer is theorized to be the precursor of Dumbo; the common trait of both characters being that they have insecurities about a specific body part (in this case, Elmer's trunk) which eventually becomes their greatest asset. This is a pair of beautiful production drawings from the Wilfred Jackson-directed Silly Symphonies short. Both are full figure renderings in graphite with red, green, and blue coloring on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Tillie measures 4.5 x 3.5, has the number 29 in the lower corner, and she can be seen around the 7:50 mark. Elmer is 4.5" x 2.5", has the number 43 in the lower right corner and appears at the beginning of the short around the 0:50 mark. The pair shows very light handling and condition is Very Good.
