Description
Dumbo "Dumbo" Limited Edition Cel #100/125 (Walt Disney, 1941/2007). "Isn't he a darling? Cootchie cootchie coo." "ACHOO!" Utterly adorable, it's everyone's favorite baby elephant, Dumbo appearing in this, The Golden Age of Animation Series limited edition hand-painted cel. Originally released in 1941 as Walt Disney Studio's 4th animated feature film, Dumbo was based on a little known children's book written by Helen Aberson and illustrated by Harold Perl that remarkably only contained 8 illustrations and a few lines of text. This outstanding limited edition cel was created using original production materials provided by the Disney Animation Research Library and hand-painted by the skilled artists of the Walt Disney Ink and Paint Department at their studio lot in Burbank. Newly delivered (by the stork!), Dumbo can be spotted unfurling his ears with a sneeze near the 10:41 mark of the film in Sequence 3.2, Scene 63. He measures grandly at 10.25" x 5.5", full-figured and centered on the frame. The cel includes a Disney Hand Painted seal and edition number of 100/125 in the lower left and comes presented on a scene-matched fine art giclée printed background. It is accompanied by a pair of Certificates of Authenticity. With minor handling and wear the condition is Very Good to Fine.Auction Info
