    Description

Batman: The Animated Series "Mad Love" Limited Edition Cel Setup (Warner Brothers, 1998). A hand-painted limited edition cel entitled "Mad Love" featuring Batman, the Joker, and Harley Quinn. "C'mon Mistah J -- This ain't no place for a genius like you!" This cel was inspired by a scene in the episode "Mad Love", based on an issue of the popular The Batman Adventures comic book by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini, which was Harley's first appearance in comics. Both versions explain how psychologist Harleen Quninzelle became the Joker's number one hench-girl, Harley Quinn. With Harley poised to make a her big screen debut in next summer's Suicide Squad feature film, this long sold-out cel is a hot item. It is #84 of 500, signed by both Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. The Warner Brothers seal is on the cel and the original Letter of Authenticity is on the reverse. Nice images of 3" to 12" each. A copy of the "Mad Love" comic book is included. Framed and in Fine condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
