Description
Anastasia Goes to a Party Interactive Book Illustrations by John Kurtz Original Art plus Book Group of 13 (HarperActive/20th Century-Fox, 1997). Animation director Don Bluth brought the legend of Russian Princess Anastasia to life with his 1997 feature, which was loosely based on the life of Anna Anderson, who claimed to have been the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II of pre-revolutionary Russia. Here are John Kurtz's original illustrations for a "Changing Scenes" book based on characters from the film that has tabs to pull for each page. This book is a joyful account of Anastasia's day spent with her grandmother and Pooka, her dog, and conclude with Anya's dance with handsome Dimitri, who helped her and sister Marie escape their captors. The airbrushed art is in gouache and artists' inks on ten various-sized Bristol boards, plus two on illustration board. The approximate image sizes of the illustrations are 4.5" x 6" (8), plus one each at 9.5" x 6"; 13,5" x 6; 13.5" x 6.5"; and 13.75" x 6.5". The two illustration boards have some minor water damage, but the images are largely unaffected. Condition is Good to Very Good overall. A copy of the published book is included.Auction Info
