"Tribute to Friz" Yosemite Sam Limited Edition Cel Setup (Warner Brothers, 1996). Longtime director Friz Freleng, considered one of the greatest animation directors of all time. Freleng worked at both Walt Disney Studios and Warner Brothers, and later co-founded DePatie-Freleng, was the first director to win an Oscar for a Bugs Bunny short ("Knighty Knight Bugs", 1957). This cel was produced to pay homage to Freleng and his great body of work following his death in 1995, and is based on an original drawing by Warner Brothers master artist Kirk Mueller. It is one of only 500 offered exclusively at the Warner Brothers Studio Store, where it was an instant sell-out. This is one of the most requested of the Warner Brothers limited editions. Beautiful 8" pose with a Warner Brothers seal, plus an original Letter of Authenticity on the reverse. A beautiful and dramatic image, framed and in Fine condition.
