"The World of Mary Blair" - Travel Memorabilia Group of 23 (c. 1940s-50s). This historical group includes a selection of 20 South American postcards from Mary Blair's August 1941 South American tour with Walt Disney and a team of studio artists. Her notes are handwritten on the back of each. What an insight to the importance of this trip on her career! Also in this lot is a 1956 photo her and Retta Scott taken in 1956 while on a trip to France, as well as a copy of American Artist magazine dated May 1958. It features a detailed story about Mary Blair on pages 20-25. The final item is Mary Blair's personal leather passport holder, noted inside as Mary R. Blair. She would have used this for all her global travel, which was extensive. Condition ranges from Good to Very Good. Rare look into the life of Mary Blair! From the Mary Blair Family Trust Archives.
