    "The Jazz Player" Yosemite Sam Limited Edition Cel #333/500 Signed by Virgil Ross (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Say your prayers varmint because in this lot is a fantastic LONG-SOLD OUT Virgil Ross limited edition Yosemite Sam cel. The piece is numbered 333/500, titled "The Jazz Player" and shows Sam as a Jazz trumpet player. The piece is based on the classic Looney Tunes cartoon Hare Trimmed. Yosemite Sam has had several occupations in his life, among them; Confederate army soldier, pirate, prison guard, viking, and a legendary mountain climber just name a few. The cel is hand-signed by Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996). Ross would spend the majority of his career with the legendary Friz Freleng (1906 - 1995), the creator of Yosemite Sam. This cel measuring about 17" x 14" was hand-inked and hand-painted on acetate at Warner Brothers ink and paint department. The cel is framed to 24" x 21" under Plexiglas with a matboard aperture of 16" x 12.5". Frame sold as-is. Artwork condition is Fine.
