"Strong to the Finish" Popeye Limited Edition Cel Signed by Myron Waldman (King Features, 1993). Popeye and Olive Oyl cross the finish line as Bluto struggles to keep up in this fantastic hand-painted limited edition cel signed by Myron Waldman. Waldman was only 22 when he started work at the Fleischer Studio in 1930. He quickly became a prominent animator, working on Betty Boop, Raggedy Ann, Gulliver's Travels, the animated Superman adaptations and of course, Popeye. Numbered 6 of only 125 made, this large cel features an array of iconic characters including Eugene the Jeep, Wimpy, Swee'Pea, Poopdeck Pappy, Popeye, Olive Oyl and Bluto. The piece is framed under Plexiglas with a mat window size of 24.25" x 9.25" and an overall frame size of 30.75"x 15.5". Sold out for over 25 years, this rare cel comes with a King Features seal. The cel shows little handling wear, and it is in Very Good condition. The frame is sold as is.
