"Stars of Termite Terrace II - Sylvester" The Scarlet Pumpernickel Limited Edition Cel Signed by Maurice Noble #30/100 (Warner Brothers, 2001). Grand Duke Sylvester raises his glass in a toast, in this rare hand-painted limited edition cel. It was inspired by the 1950 Chuck Jones-directed Daffy Duck cartoon The Scarlet Pumpernickel (a satire of the 1905 novel The Scarlet Pimpernel). This 12.5" x 10.5" cel was part of Chuck's "Stars of Termite Terrace II" portfolio, released in 2001, which sold out long ago. The matched background is a print, added for presentation purposes. The cel has been hand-signed by background artist and layout/production designer Maurice Noble (1911 - 2002), who passed away only a few months later. Sylvester's overall image size is 5.25" x 7.5". The cel, which has been lightly affixed to a black paper backing, includes a Linda Jones holograph seal in the lower left. Comes with a Linda Jones Certificate of Authenticity, and a photocopied Linda Jones letter that accompanied the cel when originally sold. Excellent condition.
