"Something There" Beauty and the Beast Limited Edition Cel #462/500 (Walt Disney, 1992). Featuring the beloved characters of the celebrated Disney Renaissance masterpiece Beauty and the Beast, presented is an astonishingly rare limited edition cel published by Disney Art Editions. Produced digitally using the innovative CAPS technology, no production cels from Beauty and the Beast exist, making rare editions like this one highly coveted by collectors. This lovely piece depicts Lumiere the candelabra, Mrs. Potts the teapot, and Cogsworth the clock. Behind them past the window, we see the Beast and Belle; all five characters are hand-painted on cel. Created by Disney studio artists with Disney-approved acrylic colors, these hand-painted editions were the only animation art from this film made available to the public from this hit movie, which has gone on to become a Broadway play and live-action film. This long sold-out cel is numbered 462 out of a small edition of 500, and it is displayed on a printed background faithfully reproduced from the original. The setup includes a Disney seal in the lower right corner, and is matted with an opening of 15.25" x 11". The overall mat size is 21.5" x 17.25". This lot includes the official Certificate of Authenticity. Slight handling wear on the mat's cloth surface. The cel shows minimal wear and is in Fine condition.Auction Info
