"Red Hot Riding Hood" Limited Edition Cel #4/36 (MGM/Preston Blair, c. 1990). This scintillating cel of sexy singer-dancer Red Hot Riding Hood was based on original drawings by Preston Blair (1908 - 1995). Red Hot was featured in six MGM cartoons, animated by Preston Blair and directed by Ted Avery. The shorts were originally released to theaters, from 1943 to 1949, and shown for years after on television. This cel was commissioned by Preston Blair and later sold by his estate. A total of 36 hand-painted cels were commissioned and this is #4. These were done for use in books and consumer products, and other uses (see Tex Avery: The MGM Years by John Canemaker, 1996). Great image size of 9" on a 12 field cel. This cel originated from the Preston Blair estate; a COA to this effect is included. Minor handling. Very Good condition.
