"Marvin Martian" Chuck Jones Limited Edition Cel FP19/40 (Warner Brothers, 2003). Chuck Jones noticed that Bugs Bunny soon began to outwit Yosemite Sam so he decided to create the opposite type of character; one who was quiet, calm, polite and soft-spoken, but whose actions were incredibly destructive and also suitably dangerous. Marvin the Martian made his debut in the 1948 cartoon Haredevil Hare. In this lot is a fantastic limited edition cel titled, "Marvin Martian." The piece is from the Familial Proof edition, numbered FP19/40. Marvin the Martian measures 11" tall in this cel of 11" x 13". The cel was created from original Chuck Jones line art transferred onto the cel through the serigraphy process and then hand-painted. The cel is paired with a background print for presentation purposes. The piece has an estate-printed signature and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity issued by Linda Jones. Condition of the cel is Very Good.
