"In Character" Chuck Jones and Friends Limited Edition Cel #199/485 (Warner Brothers, 1997). The best of the many Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies directors is arguably Charles M. "Chuck" Jones (1912 - 2002). To celebrate this animation legend's 85th birthday, this hand-painted limited edition cel was created. Surrounding a color photo of Chuck are characters from some of his most famous and popular cartoons: Bugs Bunny combing out Gossamer's hair; Wile E. Coyote chasing the Road Runner; hunter Elmer Fudd and Daffy Duck holding up "Beep!" signs; a singing Michigan J. Frog, with Porky Pig trying to hush him; Marvin the Martian, trapped between Chuck's fingers; and Pepé Le Pew hanging on to Kitty, who is attempting to escape his clutches. Wow! This hard-to-find limited edition is matted with an opening of 13" x 16", with an overall mat size of 19" x 22". Cel includes a Linda Jones seal, and has been hand-signed by Chuck Jones. Fine condition.
