"I Love to Singa" Limited Edition Cel #1/100 (Warner Brothers, 2000). "I love to Sing-a! About a moon-a and a June-a and a spring-a. I love to Singa-a!" The young little owl of the classic Tex Avery-directed short I Love to Singa sings his heart out to the talent agent Jack Bunny. This Warner Brothers theatrical short was released on 7/18/1936, and it tells the tale of the young "Owl Jolson" as he dreams of singing jazz much to the chagrin of his strict, classical music-oriented parents. They change their tune sure enough when his talent for jazz stands to make the family a whole lot of money. The plot is a tribute to Al Jolson's film The Jazz Singer. This fantastic hand-painted limited edition cel from a delightful and iconic moment from the short is the very first of an edition of only 100! Unbelievably rare, this piece has been sold out for over 20 years, and it comes with a Warner Brothers seal. Displayed on a gorgeous lithographic background, the cel is framed under glass with a mat window size of 15.5" x 10.25" and an overall frame size of 21" x 17". The cel is very well preserved, and it is in Fine condition. The frame is sold as is.
