    Description

"Fantasia "A Lesson Learned" Mickey Mouse as The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Yen Sid Limited Edition Cel #244/300 (Walt Disney, 1999)." Original hand-painted Walt Disney studio limited edition cel of Mickey Mouse and the Sorcerer Yen Sid (Disney spelled backwards). This striking piece was created from using archived 1940 artwork from Sequence 7 Scenes 87 and 88. This is a rare vertical pan cel, with nine hand-inked lines and over 27 different paint colors. This was an edition of only 300 pieces and was an immediate sell out over 17 years ago. This is #244 of only 300. Mickey and his Sorcerers hat is 8", while Yen Sid is 15". The cel is hand-signed by Joe Grant (1908 - 2005) who started Disney's character model Department in the 1930s and was instrumental in the making of Fantasia. Framed with Plexiglas, and cloth-matted with an opening of 14" x 18"; a Disney COA is on back of the frame. Fine condition.
