Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde Original Concept Art by Harrison Ellenshaw (MGM, 2003). Here is a spectacular concept painting for the sequel to the 2001 box office hit Legally Blonde. The painting shows the Washington monument, rendered on board of 10" x 20". The artwork was created by noted matte painter and visual effects artist Harrison Ellenshaw. Although the story is set in Washington, D.C., the film was shot in the offices at the Delta Center, the Utah State Capitol, and the Illinois State Capitol. Views of Washington DC were recreated using matte paintings and miniature scale models. Ellenshaw has over 30 films to his credit but is most known for his work on Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), TRON (1982), and Disneyland's 3-D attraction Captain EO starring Michael Jackson. In 2016 Harrison was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Art Directors' Guild for his contributions to the entertainment industry as a matte painter and visual effects pioneer. The piece is framed to 22" x 12" and signed by the artist. Frame sold as-is. A great painting of DC even without any connection to the box office hit. Overall condition is Fine.
