DescriptionLady and the Tramp Production Cel Setup with Master Pan Production Background (Walt Disney, 1955). Disney's beloved classic Lady and the Tramp is considered by many to be one of filmdom's most romantic feature films. This heartwarming adventure of two dogs from different sides of the tracks is so enduring that a live-action version was produced nearly 65 years after the original. Presented is an original hand-inked, hand-painted production cel setup of Lady and Tramp. The pair are in full-figure with lady measuring 4" x 3.5" and tramp 5" x 5". Both have been meticulously trimmed and applied to an oversized pan cel. While the two characters appear at different points in the film (lady at 26:15 and Tramp at 18:30) they work flawlessly together. The cel is over a hand-painted pan production background of the base of the stairs in Lady's house which appears at 27:11. This, the 15th animated Disney feature film, was the first to be distributed by the company's own Buena Vista Distribution, and was also the first animated feature filmed in widescreen CinemaScope. Backgrounds for Lady and the Tramp were painted by Claude Coats, Dick Anthony, Ralph Hulett, Al Dempster, Thelma Witmer, Eyvind Earle, Jimi Trout, Ray Huffine, and Bruce Mack. An incredible array of talent was involved in this film. The art is in a 27" x 18" frame under Plexiglas with a mat opening of 18.5" x 8.5". The mat bears an engraved brass plate with the title of the film and an incorrect production year. Condition is Very Good and frame is sold as-is.
