Lady and the Tramp Production Cel and Pan Master Background (Walt Disney, 1955). "Just a cute little bundle of trouble! Yeah, they scratch, pinch, pull ears. Shucks, any dog can take that. It's what they do to your happy home!" This is the dialogue Tramp has when he first meets Lady along with Jock and Trusty, when discussing the new arrival of a baby to a home. This is an outstanding trimmed hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of both Lady and Tramp, with great full-figure images of 5" and 6". The trimmed cels are on a trimmed hand-painted Master pan background. The background can be seen around the 18:46 mark. It is when Lady is talking with Jock and Trust about the new baby, and Tramp weighs in with his opinion. This great Master production background is marked Sequence 2 Scene 88. Backgrounds in this film were painted by Claude Coats, Dick Anthony, Ralph Hulett, Al Dempster, Thelma Witmer, Eyvind Earle, Jim Trout, Ray Huffine, and Brice Mack. What an array of talent! Trimmed cels and trimmed pan Master background are in one mat, with a size of 12" x 24" and a mat opening of 17" x 8". Stunning setup! Very Good condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
