Lady and the Tramp Print Ad Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1955). Original concept artwork for a print ad that would be used to promote the Walt Disney animated feature film Lady and the Tramp. This was the first animated feature to be filmed in CinemaScope. The artwork is Conte crayon on paper measuring 13" x 16". Main image of Lady and Tramp is 5" and 7". Four panels of key scenes measuring 2" x 3" are along the left side (Belle Notte Scene is included). This rare concept print artwork includes a copy of a letter to Card Walker from Chollie Levy dated January 10, 1955. It has a subject of "Lady and the Tramp Advertising." The fascinating letter talks about how the artwork for the ad is approved, but they are looking for headlines of the ad. This one has "His Greatest ...By Far!" The letter states the artwork was done by Mort Meyerson. The letter speaks of previous ad campaigns for Cinderella, Peter Pan, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Beautiful early concept ad artwork, rarely seen outside the Disney Studios. Fine condition.

What I most appreciated was how thorough you were when we initially met, how you were conservative in your estimates, not trying to get me to consign by giving false expectations, and then for delivering above and beyond on your commitment to me of a wonderful marketing campaign and a first rate catalog and photos, all of which resulted in a final total price realized that was nicely higher than what you had told me to expect.
