Inferior Decorator Donald Duck's House Production Background Painting (Walt Disney, 1948). This Disney theatrical short starred Donald Duck against his nemesis, Spike the Bee (aka "Buzz Buzz"). Donald and Spike made seven theatrical shorts together; this cartoon is their first meeting! The short was directed by Jack Hannah, with much animation done by Bill Justice. It was released to theaters on 8/27/48. Here is an outstanding 12 field 5-peghole production background of Donald Duck's cute cottage home, from the final scene in the movie. This can be seen at the 6:09 mark, when Spike and his bee buddies from an airborne conga line, surrounding and flying around Donald's house. The background was painted by Thelma Witmer; it's a beautiful piece, with an Art Props stamp on the backside. Matted, with an opening of 10" x 8", and overall mat size of 20" x 16". Minor handling and edge wear (hidden by the mat). Very Good condition. From the Joe Hale Archives.
