DescriptionIn Search of the Castaways Original Concept Painting by Peter Ellenshaw and Poster (Walt Disney, 1962). Here is a wonderful concept painting from In Search of the Castaways showing the expedition as they traverse the 37th parallel in search of a lost sea captain. The painting was created by legendary special effects artist and film production designer, Peter Ellenshaw (1913 – 2007). The Academy Award winning artist has over 50 films to his credit including Mary Poppins, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Spartacus, and Treasure Island. The piece was rendered on board of about 17" x 9.5". and framed to 20" x 12.5". The art is signed by the legendary artist in the upper left. Frame sold as-is. Included in this lot is an 11" x 17" poster for the movie. Artwork condition is Very Good.
