Description
Sesame Street Presents Mother Goose 1981 Calendar "Simple Simon" September Illustration by Michael Smollin Signed Original Art (Children's Television Workshop/Random House, 1980). Grover is onstage as Simple Simon, without a penny to his name, and always hungry Cookie Monster is the Pieman, who has obviously been sampling all his own wares in this cute Mother Goose calendar illustration for September. The art is by longtime Sesame Street artist Michael Smollin (1925 - 2020), a former advertising artist and commercials animator, as well as a noted magazine illustrator; he was busy illustrating these fun (and fuzzy) characters from 1976 to 1996. The art is in watercolor/color markers and ink on a sheet of board measuring 23" x 18" with an approximate image size of 19" x 15". Mr. Smollin signed the board in the lower right corner of the image. The art is in Very Good condition with minor handling wear.More information about Children's Book Illustrator.
