Description

Original Max Illustration by Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel (MGM, c. 1980s). This original sketch of Max the dog from How the Grinch Stole Christmas! was created and signed by Dr. Seuss himself, Theodor Seuss Geisel. Rendered in pen and marker on 4" x 6" paper, the drawing features the lovable and loyal companion of the Grinch, a character who stands in sharp contrast to his master. While the Grinch schemes to steal Christmas, Max remains gentle, kindhearted, and fond of both the holiday and the Whos of Whoville. Despite his reluctance, Max is enlisted by the Grinch to play the role of a reindeer, complete with antler, as part of his master's infamous plot. Theodor Seuss Geisel (1904-1991) is among the most celebrated American children's authors and illustrators, having published more than 60 books under his iconic pen name, Dr. Seuss. His imaginative style and timeless storytelling have delighted generations, making any original artwork by his hand a rare and significant treasure. This scarce Seuss sketch is framed to 13" x 15" and includes a Letter of Authenticity issued by Linda Jones. Condition is Very Good. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
