Marc Davis The Juggler Original Oil on Canvas Painting (Walt Disney, c. 1959). "When the space launches were beginning, I was fascinated and intrigued by outer space. It's a harlequin juggling the universe." Marc Davis (1913 - 2000), Disney Legend and one of Walt's Nine Old Men, captures a performer juggling the cosmos in this excellent original painting. Rendered masterfully in oil on canvas, this piece is a stunning study of color and surrealism, blended with one of the artist's favorite subjects: stage performers. This painting was hand-selected by Marc Davis to be featured in The Art of Marc Davis exhibit at the Howard Lowery Gallery in Burbank, CA, which ran from 12/15/1993 to 1/28/1994. Prints of the exhibit catalog and the painting's page are included in this lot. Signed by the artist, this piece was also displayed in the home of Marc and Alice Davis for many years. The painting, titled The Juggler, measures 19.5" x 15.5". Bearing the signature of Marc Davis, this piece shows minimal handling, and the condition is Very Good.From Disney Legend Inductees - The Marc and Alice Davis Archive.
