Description

Dumbo "Save My Baby" Fireman Clowns and Dumbo Storybook Illustration Original Art (Walt Disney/Simon and Shuster, 1947). The house is on fire and "baby" Dumbo is on the top floor... well, not after a clown pushes him out, in this fun storybook illustration. The "save my child" routine was part of the circus entertainment that Dumbo was forced into before his flying skills were discovered. This image is the published on page 14 in a book simply titled Dumbo (a Little Golden Book-style format referred to as "Walt Disney's Little Library" on the front cover and noted as #D3; cover and page prints included for reference) that was published in 1947 and printed with a combination of both black and white and full color pictures. The art is in gouache on Bristol board, noted as 20 in the lower left corner. It's matted with an opening of approximately 8" x 11, with an overall mat size of 14,5" x 17.5". The art is in Good to Very Good condition with some handling/edge wear, tiny edge stains, and age-related board toning.
