Complete Story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Snow White and Prince Preliminary Storybook Illustration by Disney Legend Manuel Gonzales (Walt Disney/Harper and Brothers, 1937). "Just as she had dreamed, Snow White waved goodbye to her little friends." It's a fairy tale ending for Snow White and the Prince in this lovely graphite illustration. This original preliminary storybook drawing immortalizes the moment that love conquers all in the 1937 film, rendered in breathtaking detail by Disney Legend Manuel Gonzales (1913 - 1993) for the Harper and Brothers storybook that released with the film and retold its gripping story: Complete Story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Gonzales, often called "Gonzy" by friends and coworkers, was hired after applying at the Rockefeller Center in New York when Disney was in need of more artists to help finish their first feature film. He went on to become a recognized "Mousecar" winning artist who helped to pencil and ink a variety of Daily and Sunday morning comic strips over the decades, as well as create beautiful publicity art for Disney shorts and feature films. The picture-perfect finale moment depicting the two lovebirds measures about 12.5'' x 8.5'' on 16 field 5-peghole animation paper, and it is marked for page 80 in the lower left corner. A must-have for any Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs collector, this lot is in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear, a slight crease in the middle, faint age-related toning, and small pinholes in corners.From the Disney Legend Manuel Gonzalez Archive.
