"Do you know where Wonderland is?" begins this attractive children's storybook, based on the 1951 animated feature from the Disney Studios. Here's an amazing collection of original art from this book by Disney Legend Al Dempster (1911 - 2001). Al was primarily a background artist for Disney from the 1940s-70s; some of the films he worked on are Pinocchio, Peter Pan, and Sleeping Beauty. This lot includes illustrations from the Little Golden Book including page 1, the Title Page with full text and an image size of approximately 5" x 3.75"; page 2 Mad Tea Party with text (image size 6" x 5.25"); page 3, Alice falling asleep with Dinah the cat and beginning to dream, with full text (image 6" x 5" plus an initial cap D); page 6, image of Alice seeing the White Rabbit by a tree, art only (5.25" x 4.75"); pages 8 and 9, image of Alice falling through the hollow tree, both with full text (5.75" x 6" and 5.75" x 6.5"); page 10, Alice has landed and sees the White Rabbit departing, with full text (4.75" x 5"); page 11, Alice is "alone in Wonderland where nothing is as it seems," looking at upside-down mirror image, art only (5.25" x 5.5"); page 12, Alice grows taller than the trees, full text (5" x 7"); page 13, Alice encounters strange flowers, art only (5.5" x 5.5"); page 14, Alice enters Tulgey Wood, art only with text block on back (5.25" x 5.25"); page 15 and 16, Alice finds the White Rabbit's house, both full text pages (6" x 5.75" and 6" x 5.5"); page 18, Alice converses with the White Rabbit, art only (5.25" x 3.75"); page 19, Alice follows the White Rabbit, art only (5" x 5.75"); and page 28, Alice finally awakens from her dream, art only (5" x 4.75"). This is some of the most attractive storybook art we've seen in a while, with very colorful images! A first-printing copy of the book is included. The art is in overall Very Good condition with minor handling wear; some old tape has left stains in the outer borders, and there are tack holes in the corners.
