Hunchback of Notre Dame Cover Design Preliminary Drawing (Walt Disney, c. 1990s). Quasimodo sets the Baby Bird free in this original penciled concept/layout drawing. We believe this was an unused design for the soundtrack CD booklet cover art for a Japanese release. The actual published cover had a similar scene, but added Esmeralda and changed the point of view. The art is in graphite and blue pencil on onionskin paper, with an image area of 12" x 12". Quasi's image was redrawn at one point, on a separate piece of 15 field animation paper; this was photocopied, trimmed, and then taped into position on the onionskin master drawing, over the original image (all pieces are now separated). The redrawn graphite and blue pencil image is included, along with a reduced-size print. So that's two pieces of original art, and two production photostats in this lot! Overall condition is Very Good.
