H.R.Pufnstuf Double-Sided Concept Art by Wes Cook (Sid and Marty Krofft, 1969). Sid and Marty Krofft were given the Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award for their longtime contributions to television. After designing costumes for Hanna-Barbara's The Banana Splits, their first big show was H.R. Pufnstuf. It premiered on NBC on 9/6/69, with 17 original episodes. The show was filmed at Paramount Studios, with the opening title sequence shot at Big Bear, California. This is rare original pitch/concept art for this groundbreaking show. It is from the hand of legendary prolific concept designer and artist in the field of themed entertainment, Mr. Wes Cook. These are two hand-cut hand-painted paper setups in a mixed-media presentation. The two pieces are enclosed in one common two-sided Plexiglas sleeve, with hinges on one end for wall mounting. The one-of-a-kind designs are on oversized boards measuring 30" x 18". Each one has handwritten in bottom border "© Sid and Marty Krofft Productions Copyright 1969." Side one has handwritten "The Witch on her jet propelled broomstick with the vulture Orson and her bats. In the background the witch's castle, a castle guard and Scarry the Spider." The second pitch/concept piece has written "Dr. Wiz after taking his own magic potion... and his very sick house." Both pieces are hand-signed by the artist Wes Cook. He passed away in 2005. Very rare and historically important original artwork! Very Good condition.
