How to Play Golf Goofy Cartoon Storyboard/Concept Art Group of 51 (Walt Disney, 1944). Goofy became a star in the 1940s with this Jack Kinney-directed "How To" series. He made shorts on how to ride a horse, ski, learn self-defense, play baseball, perform in the Olympics, swim, fish, be a sailor, and then this short, his unofficial ninth "How To" short. Fred Shield was once again the narrator and Pinto Colvig the voice of Goofy. The short was released on 3/10/44, at the height of Goofy's "How To" fame. This is an unbelievable set of fifty-one original studio storyboards/script-gag concept art pieces for this film. Many remained the final script. All are on 9" x 8" 5-peghole paper. Art area is 8" x 6". Some are highly finished graphite with detailed colored pencil. All have script underneath artwork. Some are rough concepts in Conte crayon. Some depict Goofy as an elderly Scottish golfer, many are him dead-on to the finished script. You can actually see what gags and story stayed in this short, and which ones were discarded in this incredible group of 51 pieces (that's right -- 51!). Pinholes in the corners, minor handling wear. One of the most detailed looks into the making of a Goofy short we have ever encountered! Minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
