How To Play Baseball Goofy Art Props Setup with Production Background (Walt Disney, 1942). Who better to demonstrate the nuances of the great American game of baseball than Goofy? Apparently that is what Samuel Goldwyn though as this Disney cartoon was produced at his request, and first shown to accompany the 1942 theatrical release of Pride of the Yankees. This is an original Art Props setup of Goofy on an original production background from the 3:36 mark in the film. The image of Goofy is printed on celluloid, trimmed to the figure and mounted to the hand-painted background used in the film. These setups were created both as special gifts from the studio and as artwork for publication and promotional use. Goofy measures 3.5" x 7" on a 13" x 10" background which features scene and production numbers on the bottom border. These Art Prop images, aside from being ideal compositions, required painstaking effort in their assembly and were only made as needed, making them extraordinarily rare. The art shows handling and edge wear. Condition is Very Good.
