    Description

How to Dance Ballroom Production Background (Walt Disney, 1953). "There are still those who, because are so inhibited, they no longer have the ability or instinct to dance away their cares" says the narrator at the 1:05 mark of this great 1950s stylized Goofy short. This cartoon was directed by Jack Kinney and featured the music and an animated appearance of the "Firehouse Five Plus Two." This background can be seen early into the cartoon, around the 1:05 mark. It shows everyone dancing and a forlorn Goofy, all alone, sitting out the dance. This magnificent stylized background is from the hand of Mr. Claude Coats (1913 - 1992). Mr. Coats excelled for years in animation, before changing over to WED and becoming a driving force in designing Disney Theme Parks. He was inducted as a Disney Legend in 1991. This is a stunning piece of artwork, showcasing the new '50s styling. Art is in gouache on background board. Matted with an opening of 15" x 11", framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 28.5" x 24". Frame is sold as-is. Artwork condition is Very Good.
