    Horton Hears a Who! Production Cel and Animation Drawing Signed by Chuck Jones (MGM, 1970). "On the fifteenth of May, in the jungle of Nool, in the heat of the day, in the cool of the pool, he was splashing enjoying the jungle's great joys. And Horton, the elephant heard a small noise." A superb pair of production art piece from the opening scene in Theodor Geisel's Horton Hears a Who! Better known as Dr. Seuss, the collaboration between Theodor Geisel (1904 – 1991) and storied animator, Chuck Jones (1912 – 2002) is the stuff of legend. He first collaborated with Dr. Seuss/Theodor Geisel during World War II for the Private Sanfu series. Jones and Geisel would team up up three more times after the war to make the animated versions of The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears A Who and one on the most beloved holiday specials ever, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The production cel is this lot was hand-painted on 12 field acetate and paired with a copy/print of the background. The matching animation drawing was rendered in graphite on 12 field animation paper. Both pieces are signed by Chuck Jones and hand a seal of authenticity affixed to both pieces. Included are certificate of Authenticity for both. Overall condition is Very Good.
