Description

Horse Hare Bugs Bunny Production Cel and Master Production Background (Warner Brothers, 1960). In his first cartoon of the 1960s, Bugs Bunny guards Fort Lariat alone as Yosemite Sam and a pack of Indians attacks. Set in 1886, the short was directed by Friz Freleng, and written by Mike Maltese. This cartoon is rarely shown as it has some unacceptable Native American Indian racial stereotypes. Here is a rare 12 field hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of Bugs Bunny in his Calvary outfit. You can see this at the 1:15 mark when he gets shot at and yells "INDIANS!" The cel is on a Master 12 field hand-painted production background and trimmed overlay. It can be seen at the :56 mark as the Calvary is leaving the fort, with only Bugs left behind to guard it. The background was painted by Tom O'Loughlin, and is marked Sc. 4. Master setups for this era of Looney Tunes are very rare. Bugs is a great full-figure image of 5". Minor handling and some cel paint on background. In Very Good condition.
