Description
Hong Kong Phooey Publicity Cel (Hanna-Barbera, 1974). Scatman Crothers voiced this cult favorite H-B character. Penrod Pooch was a mild mannered janitor at a police station by day, crime fighting Hong Kong Phooey superhero by night. This may be the single largest hand-painted Hong Kong Phooey cel ever produced, a massive 28" x 20" cel used to make a "Have a Pepsi" Pepsi Cola Promotional Poster. Hong Kong is a massive 21" long. The top border of the cel has nine additional classic H-B characters -- Wally Gator, Pixie and Dixie, Jinx, Quick Draw McGraw, Huckleberry Hound, Peter Potamus, Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo. This is a one-of-a-kind hand-painted production cel created by the Hanna-Barbera Ink and Paint Department, with white graphics taped to the cel to showcase lettering placement. This comes directly from a longtime H-B Executive's private collection. Minor handling. Very Good condition.Auction Info
