Honey Harvester Donald Duck Animation Drawings Sequence of 5 (Walt Disney, 1949). In Honey Harvester, Donald Duck is working in his greenhouse when he notices a bee harvesting honey. The bee turns out to be Spike the Bee who can be heard buzzing "Whistle While You Work" from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs while harvesting for honey. Donald tries various approaches to find the hive, which despite Spike's best efforts to throw him off, he eventually discovers the honey in the radiator of an old car. He drains the honey and starts to leave when Spike spots him and mounts an attack. The bee adds a cactus needle to extend his stinger. Donald relents and returns the honey all but one jar, until the bee spots him. From Honey Harvester we have a fantastic sequence of five drawings. These original production drawings can be seen around the 5:36 mark. Donald measures 5.5" tall, drawn in graphite with red and green penciling on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper, and numbered 5A, 11D, 12, 23, and 40 in the lower right corner. These are beautifully crafted full-body Donald drawings from Honey Harvester which is one of Spike the Bee's early appearances. These vintage pieces of animation art show only minor handling with timing sheet notes on 11D and 23. Condition is Very Good.
