    Heavy Metal Harry Canyon and Girl Production Cel (Columbia, 1981). "A two-day ride with one hell of a tip" is the closing summation of the "Harry Canyon" section of Heavy Metal. It was the second part of this animated sci-fi anthology and was set in a dystopian New York city in 2031. Offered her is an original hand-painted production cel of Harry and the lovely unnamed woman who links him to the tale of the Loc-Nar. The image fills the 12 field cel which can be seen at the 12:51 mark of this adult-themed cult classic. This film was initially a mild box office success, but it's growing popularity from home video sales spawned the sequel Heavy Metal 2000 10 years later. In 2011 director Robert Rodriguez purchased the rights to Heavy Metal with plans of rebooting it as a TV series for hi El Rey network. Those efforts were ultimately released on Netflix under the title Love, Death and Robots. This rare and alluring production piece is in a 15" x 12 frame under Plexiglas with a mat opening of 9.5" x 7.5". Minor handling and condition is Very Good. Frame is sold as-is.
