Happy Puppy Drawing Signed by Chuck Jones (Warner Brothers, 2001). It's no secret to Chuck Jones fans that he was a true animal lover and his cartoons often featured household pets. Dating back to his earliest directorial work with the Two Curious Puppies series through the 1940s and '50s where he introduced characters such as Charlie, Mark Anthony, K-9, Sam Sheepdog, and the Grinch's sidekick Max. He also frequently featured a pair of dogs in his comic strip Crawford. Presented here is an original drawing of a puppy by this legendary director. The full-figure image of a happy drooling puppy measures 2.5" x 4.5" and is rendered in graphite on paper. The piece is signed by Chuck Jones (1920 - 2002) in the lower right, but the signature is concealed under the mat. This is a rare one-of-a-kind signed sketch by one of animation's greats. The drawing comes with a Linda Jones Certificate of Authenticity that is in an envelope on back of the frame. The Plexiglas front frame measure 18.5" x 17" with a 9"x 7.5" mat window. Minor handling and condition is Very Good. Frame is sold as-is.
