    Description

Hansel and Gretel Minnie Mouse and Witch Storyboard Original Art Group of 2 (Walt Disney, c. 1950s-60s). Here is a remarkably rare set: two original storyboard drawings for a proposed Disney-animated Hansel and Gretel feature film featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. A screenplay was written by A. J. Carothers and the film would have starred Edgar Bergen. From the book The Disney That Never Was, Charles Solomon writes, "the green-skinned witch they encounter looks more comic than frightening, although an elaborate chemical apparatus makes her cottage look like a mad scientist's eerie laboratory." These delightful images depicting what could have been are rendered in pastel on 8.25" x 6" animation paper stapled to 9" x 6.5" black paper. The pieces show minor handling and edge wear with light toning due to age. The condition is Very Good.
