Hair Raising Hair Limited Edition Cel #13/20 (Warner Brothers/Chuck Jones, 2016/1946). "My... I bet you monsters lead inn-teresting lives!" says Bugs Bunny to Gossamer as he gives him a manicure. This is from the cartoon that heralded Gossamer's first appearance. The short, directed by Chuck Jones and written by Tedd Pierce, was released on 5/25/46. With most of the vintage production cels of Warner Brothers theatrical shorts thrown away, Chuck Jones produced new artwork to create hand-painted limited edition cels of his most famous scenes. In 1989 (almost 30 years ago), Jones released his limited edition entitled "Hare Raising Hare: Bugs and Gossamer." It was an edition of 500 and a nearly instant sell-out. To commemorate the 70th birthday of this short, a special hand-painted cel of this famous manicure scene was released in 2016. It was an edition of only 20 pieces and this is #13 of only 20 in a very exclusive release. It's framed with a mat opening of 12" x 10", in an overall frame size of 20" x 18". These tremendous images of the characters stand approximately 8" and 9" tall. Included is a limited edition Fine Art giclee of the original lobby card with a matching number 13 of 750 and measures it 11" x 9". Condition for each is Fine.
