Description
Gustaf Tenggren Pinocchio Illustration Animation Art (Walt Disney, c. 1940). This luscious watercolor and ink concept illustration featuring rotund puppeteer Stromboli and sly fox Fowlfeather in a behind-the-scenes situation is a true masterpiece from the Golden Age of Animation. Drawn by Swedish-American illustrator Gustaf Tenggren, the illustration (far too detailed to call a "sketch") is drenched in the old-world charm of Tenggren's childhood, and evokes a long-forgotten time and place. The art is on thin board, with an image area measuring approximately 12.25" x 9", and other than some old glue stains and bits of archival tape (from a recent framing), the piece is in Excellent condition. It's signed in white ink in the upper left corner.Auction Info
