    Description

Flying South The Wolf Production Cel with Key Master Background and Foreground Overlay (Terrytoons, 1947). Heckle and Jeckle decide flying south is too much trouble, and stop off at Granny's house... only to find the wolf, who is seen as he chases the magpies through the countryside in this rare production setup. The wolf is on a hand-inked, hand-painted production cel sandwiched between a hand-cut painted overlay of two trees, and a painted background of the road and green meadows. Mannie Davis directed the short, which was first shown in theaters on 8/15/47. The foreground overlay and background are painted with gouache with airbrushed highlights on skimmed board; two Terrytoons stamps are on the reverse. Condition is Good to Very Good with handling and edge wear; the cut foreground art is fragile.
