DescriptionFlying South Production Background Art Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1947). Heckle and Jeckle got to Grandma's house and pose as a couple of orphan babies in order to get out of flying south, in this Mannie Davis-directed short, first shown in theaters on 8/15/47. Problem was, the old gal had been "replaced" by a wolf! Here are two original hand-painted 12 field production backgrounds from this short. Both show the wolf's well-stocked refrigerator. The first is noted as 11 in the upper right, and can be seen in online viewings at the 1:50 mark. It shows an open fridge; the door was animated and does not appear here. The second image is noted as 12, seen at the 2:05 mark as the birds react to the wolf's menu du jour -- magpie stew! The art is in watercolor/gouache on skimmed boards, with Terrytoons stamps on both sides. Condition is Very Good with minor handling and edge wear.
