    Description

Fantasia Yen Sid Production/Color Model Cel (Walt Disney, 1940). In the classic "Sorcerer's Apprentice" Mickey Mouse segment in Fantasia, the sorcerer is named Yen Sid (which is, of course, "Disney" spelled backwards). When Mickey decides to play sorcerer with Yen Sid's hat, he creates a water-flooded havoc; the Sorcerer returns, waves his hand, and all the chaos is eliminated. Mickey sheepishly hands the Sorcerer back his hat, and then a broom. As the embarrassed mouse walks past, Yen Sid swats Mickey's backside with the broom. This happens about 9:16 into the scene, to end "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" segment. This is an incredibly rare hand-inked, hand-painted trimmed production cel/color model of Yen Sid from that ending scene. He has his hat back on and broom in hand. This is seconds before he pats Mickey's hind end with it. Amazing image, with a figure size of 8.5". This is one of the single-best cels of this character we have seen! Cel is trimmed to 5" x 9" and taped to orange paper. Minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
