Fantasia "Sorcerer's Apprentice" Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). Here's Mickey Mouse in his greatest role as the Sorcerer's Apprentice in Fantasia. It is the story of wizard Yen Sid's ambitious, but lazy, assistant who attempts to work some of the magical feats of his master before he knows how to properly control them. Mickey of course plays the role of the apprentice. In this original production drawing we see Mickey carrying buckets after the dustup with the brooms. You can see this image around the 38:51-time mark when Mickey picks up the buckets and sheepishly looks up at the sorcerer Yen Sid. Fun fact: Yen Sid is Disney spelled backwards. This poignant animation drawing was rendered in graphite and color pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. The piece is noted as C101 in the lower right. A hunched over Mickey measures almost 4". Edge wear and some decolorization along the top and bottom border area. Overall condition is Very Good.
