    Description

Fantasia "Pastoral Symphony" Fauns Concept Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). The Pastoral Symphony segment of Disney's Fantasia featured fauns, cupids, and other legendary creatures and characters of classical Greek mythology. It depicted a festival to honor Bacchus, the god of wine and this is an original concept/storyboard drawing of 2 fauns heralding the procession. The remarkably detailed drawing is rendered in graphite on 12 field 5-peghole paper and is labeled 22 in the lower right. A Concert Feature stamp is on back. The characters together measure 6.5" x 5" and a similar scene appears around the 1:25:53 mark. This is an absolute masterpiece from the early stages in this film's development and a perfect example of the level of artistry employed in the making of this beloved classic. The piece shows minor handling, toning, pinholes and light smudges. A small portion of the lower right corner is torn. Condition is Very Good.
