Description

Fantasia Painted Production Background (Walt Disney, 1940). Hand-painted production background art from Fantasia is as beautiful as it is rare. This pastel and acrylic piece on 16 field 5-peghole paper is magnificent! The backside is simply chock-full of production notes... "Seq. 05.4 Sc. 17.1."... "O.K. Sam A" (this would be Samuel Armstrong, the brilliant artist who directed the "Toccata and Fugue" and "Nutcracker Suite" segments). It is dated 5-16-1940 and marked "Used by Inkers." Near the bottom of the back, it says "OK Sc. 17.1 'Ham' 5-13-40..." this is most likely Ham Luske, who directed the "Pastoral Symphony" segment. There is also a "Property of Walt Disney Studio" stamp on it. The pegholes in the top margin have been trimmed and reattached long ago with tape; otherwise, in Fine condition.
