Fantasia Mickey Mouse Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). Mickey's greatest role is long considered to be The Sorcerer's Apprentice in Fantasia. Originally conceived as a stand-alone short, this cartoon was incorporated into Fantasia to boost up the box office appeal of Disney's ambitious 1940 feature. This is as good as it gets in terms of Mickey -- he has the smile, the hat, and the strut! This original 16-field 5-peghole animation drawing of Mickey Mouse is in graphite with green pencil highlights, marked #785 in the bottom right corner with initials PD. Mickey is a stunning 7" tall. One of the best pure Sorcerer's Apprentice drawings we have seen to date.
